1381 ORDINANCE NO. 1381
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR TERMS OF MEMBER-
SHIP FOR THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA; PROVIDING
FOR THE INITIAL TERM OF OFFICE TO BE ONE
YEAR FOR THREE MEMBERS, TWO YEARS FOR
THREE MEMBERS AND THREE YEARS FOR THREE
MEMBERS; PROVIDING FOR THE MEMBERSHIP
TO CONSIST OF NINE MEMBERS; PROVIDING THAT
ALL TERMS OF THE MEMBERS SHALL BE FOR
THREE YEARS AFTER THE INITIAL APPOINTMENT;
PROVIDING THAT A MEMBER SHALL NOT BE RE-
APPOINTED AFTER THE EXPIRATION OF THREE
THREE-YEAR TERMS FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR
AFTER THE EXPIRATION OF THE LAST TERM; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JULY 1, 1977.
WHEREAS, Section 702 of Article VII of the Charter of the
City of Sanfordo Florida, provides for the appointment of a Planning and
Zoning Commission by the City Commission of the City of Sanford to
serve at the pleasure of the City Commission, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of the
City of Sanford that an Ordinance be adopted designating the number of
members and the term of membership of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF
THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION I. The Planning and Zoning Commission shall consist
of nine members appointed by the City Commission.
SECTION 2. The initial appointment of the members of the
Planning and Zoning Commission shall be for one year for three members,
two years for three members, and three years for the three remaining
members. After the initial appointments, all appointments shah be for
a term of three years.
SECTION 3. After any member has served for three three-year
terms, said member shall not be eligible for re-appointment until at
least one year after the expiration of his last three-year term.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective on July
1977.
