All masonry design, material and workmanship shall be in strict accordance with the ACI Standard Building Code requirements for concrete masonry structures: ACI 530/ACI 530.1. 2. Provide a minimum of (1) filled CMU cell shall be located under concentrated loads, at all corners, at each end of openings 6'-0" long and greater, at ends of walls and in cmu walls at 6'-0" MAX. OC (Typical U.O.N.).. 4. Provide HORIZONTAL JOINT REINFORCING, W1.7 or "Dur—O—Wall" truss type reinforcing at 16" OC vertical in all CMU walls. 5. Provide dovetail anchors for the full height of columns where independent concrete columns are abutted by masonry walls. 6. CMU concrete blocks shall conform to ASTM C-90 (28 day strength 2000 PSI) (f'm = 1500 PSI), laid in running bond. Stack bond walls shall have 9 gauge horizontal joint reinforcement 0 16" o.c. vertical in addition to typical vertical reinforcement. 7. All mortar joints for hollow masonry units shall extend the full width of face shells. Mortar joints for solid masonry units shall be full head and bed joints — 3/8" thick typical. 8. Provide a 8"x16" bond beam with (1) #5 bar. At corners provide continuity by using corner bars or end hooks. 9. Lap Splice for a #5 bar to be 30 inches. 10. Filled cells shall be vibrated during placement using a "Pencil" vibrator.
