Commissioner Britton moved to approve Ordinance No. 2024-4773, on the first reading. Seconded by Commissioner Britton and carried by vote of the Commission as follows: Mayor Woodruff Aye Vice Mayor Mahany Aye Commissioner Britton Aye Commissioner Wiggins Aye Commissioner Austin Aye 9) CITY ATTORNEY' S REPORT 10) CITY CLERK'S REPORT Traci Houchin, City Clerk, said that she received a request for a Joint Budget Meeting with the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) on July 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM. There are several applications for the CRA and Museum Committees. These will be included in the next agenda book. 11) CITY MANAGER'S REPORT Mr. Bonaparte asked Brynt Johnson to provide an update on the Mayfair Water Towers. Mr. Johnson said he will be bringing an agenda memo to the next meeting. Mr. Bonaparte said he is looking forward to his one-on-one conversations with the Commission. 12) CITIZEN PARTICIPATION 13) CITY COMMISSION REPORTS Commissioner Britton said she asked the City Manager for permission to speak with Tony Raimondo, Development Services Director, regarding noise downtown after events have ended. She thanked the Clerk's Office and the Commission for the flowers when she was CITY COMMISSION MINUTES MARCH 25, 2024 REGULAR MEETING sick. She was impressed with the HCA Staff and was well taken care of. She thanked Robert Beall, Parks and Grounds Manager, for everything he did for her, and it is greatly appreciated. She expressed gratitude towards the new writer at the Sanford Herald. Mr. Bonaparte thanked Brea Jones for her great work and research. Commissioner Wiggins reminded everyone that his Commissioner meeting is this Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 6 PM. The food give-away is on Friday, March 30, 2024, at Dr. George Starke Park along with information to hand out to the youth in the community. He thanked the community for their support during the recall and apologized for any misinformation the community received. There will be a grand opening in April for the 84 unit brand new affordable housing Somerset Landing Apartments in District 2. Commissioner Austin thanked Parks for responding quickly for damage to the new gate that someone drove through while texting and driving at Lee P. Moore Park. Vice Mayor Mahay said she is so glad the recall is over for Commissioner Wiggins. She thanked Paul Williams for another great Pints n' Paws Event. Commissioner Austin too! Commissioner Mahany mentioned a new business downtown called "Old Kinderhook", that teaches you the art of blown glass and on the other side is axe throwing.
