REGULAR MEETING
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Meeting on
Monday, March 11, 2024, at 7:00 PM, in the City Commission Chambers, City Hall, at 300 North
Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida.

A. Approve the sponsorship donation in the amount of $200, for the purchase of ten t -

public purpose.
B. Approve a lease with Project Sanford, Inc., relating to a storage area located within
230 East First Street.
C. Approval of a nune pro tune extension and restatement of the facility lease
agreement for the City owned property located at 230 East First Street (Sanford
Information Center) between Seminole Cultural Art Council, Inc. (SCAQ and the
City of Sanford.
D. Approval for miscellaneous vehicles and equipment to sell as surplus, to be sent to

auction, and sold to the highest bidder in the Parks and Grounds Division to include:

E. Approve a "Date Change" from a previously approved special event on May 12,

F. Approve the expanded road closures for a previously approved special event for the
`17`x' Annual Hurricane Party', on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Commissioner Britton said on Women's Day she helped Habitat for Humanity put
up siding on one of the three houses being built in District 2.
Commissioner Britton said Brady Lessard, Economic Development Director has
exceeded her expectations. She said that Mr. Lessard and Pamela Lynch, SCRA Director and
Economic Development Project Manager, make a perfect team. Commissioner Britton said she
attends every CRA meeting, and she is impressed. Commissioner Britton said she spoke at South
Seminole College on Women's Voting with Seminole County Commissioner Andrea Herr. She
said she is not dissatisfied with Development Services; she just wants to be certain that the
processes for "Open for Business" are being adhered to.
Commissioner Britton asked to use $2K from her Commission Fund for a public

purpose for the "4th Annual Juneteenth Festival".

of Commissioner Britton's Commission fund for a public purpose for the sponsorship for the `4th

Mr. Bonaparte thanked Commissioner Britton for Mr. Lessard's compliments.
Commissioner Wiggins acknowledged some of the Young Men of Excellence who
attended tonight's meeting. He spoke about the recall and expressed his comments. The Choice
Neighborhood Initiative (CNI) was in place before he took his seat in office, and he is working
with City staff on this. He cares about the citizens of Sanford. He mentioned there are 60 units in
Monroe Landing, the second phase will have 84 units, Habitat for Humanity has built 35 homes in
Sanford, with many of them in District 2. In 2024/2025 Habitat for Humanity is building 14 more
new homes. District 2 has a True Health Clinic in Goldsboro that has helped many residents with
their healthcare needs. He invited everyone to come to his Community meetings. Commissioner
Wiggins said in the last five years, the Picnic Project has given away 3,621 pounds of food to those
in need.
Commissioner Austin reminded everyone the CNI report states that fields should
be built.

Mayor Woodruff said someone called him regarding a stop work order that was
issued on a project. He worked with staff and the resident, to get the issue resolved and thanked
Development Services. Two Sundays ago, he attended the Peace Run. He thanked Chris Smith,
Project Manager and all the City staff who assisted in the Mayfair Golf Course Clubhouse
Groundbreaking Ceremony.
There being no further business, the meeting vas adjourned at 9:10 PM.
