AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORDo FLORIDA°
AMENDING SECTION 2-2 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE
CITY OF SANFORDo FLORIDA, SAID AMENDMENT
A1VIENDING THE PROVISION AS TO REGULAR SESSIONS
OF THE CITY COMMISSION TO REQUIRE THAT THE
CITY COMMISSION MEET IN REGULAR SESSIONS AT
LEAST TWICE A MONTH AT SUCH TIMES AND PLACES
AS THE COMMISSION MAY I~RESCRIBE BY RULE.
WHEREAS~ it has been brought to the attention of the City Commission
of the City of Sanfordo Florida° that Section 2-2 of the City Code is in conflict
with Section 2.11 of the Charter of the City of Sanford in that the Charter
provides that the Commission shall meet regularly at least twice every month
at such times and places as the Commission may prescribe by Rule, and
Section 2-2 of the Code provides that it shall be the duty of the City Commission
to meet in the Commission Room in the City Hall in regular sessions twice a
month on the second and fourth Mondays of each month~ and
WI-IEREAS, it is the desire of the Commission to conform the
provisions of the Code to the provisions of the Charter as to meetings of
the Commission.
NOW TI-IEREFORE~ BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF TIrE
CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 2-2 of the City Code of the City of Sanford,
Florida~ is hereby amended to read as follows:
"It shall be the duty o£ the City Commission to meet in regular
sessions at least twice every month at such times and places as the Commission
may prescribe by Rule. Special meetings of the City Commission shall be held
as provided by Section 2.11 of the Charter."
SECTION 2. That all ordinances or pans of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
