1221 ORDINANCE NO. 1221
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD0 FLORIDA~
AMENDING SECTION 27-7 OF THE SANFORD CITY CODE
PERTAINING TO SCHEDULE OF MAXIMUM FARES FOR
THE OPERATION OF TAXICABS WITHIN THE CITY, SAID
ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A RATE SCHEDULE FOR
METERED TAXICABS.
WHEREAS, Section 27-7 of the Sanford City Code provides for a
schedule of maximum fares for the operation of taxicabs within the City, and
Wt{EREAS~ the present Ordinance provides for fares to be established
in accordance with certain zones within the City, and does not contemplate the
operation of metered taxicabs, and
WHtDREAS, a taxicab company within the City desires to operate
its taxicab~cornpany with metered cabs, and it is necessary that a s.ehedule
of fares be established for the operation of metered taxicabs.
NOW° THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE
CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Section 27-7 of the Sanford City Code is hereby
amended by the addition of the following language:
"Any taxicab operated by rne~ers within the City of
Sanford0 Florida, shall observe the following schedule of
fares:
a. Sixty cents ($. 60) for the first one-sixth (1/6)
mile for fraction ~hereof~ or first one minute waiting time.
b. Ten cents ($. 10) for each additional one-sixth (1/6)
mile or one minute waiting time.
c. One ($1.00) Dollar for each parcel delivered within
the City.

SECTION 2. The schedule of fares charged for the use of
a metered taxicab shall be prominently posted in the interior of the vehicle
at all times and shall be at all time visible to passengers.
SECTION 3. That all other provisions of Chapter 27-7 of the
Sanford City Code, as amended, which are not in conflict herewith, shall
remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effectived immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
