1101 ORDINANCE NO. 1101 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1039, WHICH SAID ORDINANCE AMENDED SECTION 23-8, THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, 1954, AS AMENDED, ESTABLISHING A TAX OF TEN PERCENT ON CHARGES TO UTILITY USERS, SAID AMENDMENT PROVIDING EXEMPTIONS THEREFROM. BE IT tit CTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: SECTION i. That ordinance No. 1039 of the City of Sanford, Florida, passed and adopted September 27, 1971, relating to Section 23-8, The Code of the City of Sanford, Florida, 1954, as amended, by establishing a utility tax of ten percent, be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the following: "]~rovided, however, federal, state, county and municipal governments and their commissions and agencies, and other tax supported bodies, public corporations, ati~horities, boards and commissions, and all recognized churches whose property is used exclusively for church purposes, shall be exempt from the incidence of such tax." SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be effective retroactively to October 1, 1972.
