1750 ORDINANCE NO. 1750
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA, SAID ORDINANCE AMENDING
CHAPTER 9, FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION,
ARTICLE II. STANDARD FIRE PREVENTION CODE,
SEC. 9-12.2, AMENDING SEC. 18.106, ACCESS TO
BUILDINGS BY FIRE APPARATUS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the Sanford City Code is hereby
amended by amending Chapter 9~ Fire Prevention and Protection,
Article I!o Standard Fire Prevention Code, Sec. 9-12.2, amending
~ec. 18.106, Access to Buildings by Fire Apparatus to read as
follows:
All premises within the city limits shall be provided
with fire access roads so that all portions of any building is
accessible to fire appartus.
Fire access roads shall be provided by the property
Dwner when any portion of a building is set back more than 150
feet from any property line, when a building exceeds 30 feet in
~eight above the ground, or when set back in excess of 50 feet
from a property line.
Fire access roads shall be at least 15 feet wide; of
stabilized materials; and at least 10 feet away from any
building.
Combustible materials that are deemed hazardous by the
Fire Chief shall not be brought onto or stored on the
~onstruction site of any under construction.
No fire access road shall be blocked at any time.
SECTION 2: If any section or portion of a section of
this ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitu-
tional, it shall not be held to impair the validity, force or
~ffect of any other section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 4: That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
