CITY COMMISSION MINUTES
NOVEMBER 15 2010
SPECIAL MEETING
of the steps involved in the search for a Police Chief.
Vice Mayor Woodruff couldn't be present for today's meeting and
transmitted an email earlier today and asked that it be added to the record. Mayor Kuhn read
the email, as follows: Since I will be unable to make the meeting this afternoon (we are on
our way back from the historic preservation grant review in Tallahassee) please add this to
the record for the meeting. As we discussed at last Monday's work session, I think we should
continue with the search for the Police Chief. I do not see how a delay benefits the City and
a new City Manager will not know the City or the department and that background is
important knowledge. Preliminary work could be started for the City Manager search, but it
should be up to the new Commission to start that search.
There was a consensus of the Commission to continue the search for the
Police Chief.
Mr. George said the same process for the City Manager search will begin
after Thanksgiving.
6) END THE MEETING.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:34 PM.
