AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: AN ORDINANCE
DETERMINING THE AMOUNT AND FIXING THE
RATE OF TAXATION AND MAKING THE ANNUAL
TAX LEVY OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
FOR THE YEAR 1938.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
Section 1. That the amount determined necessary
to be raised by taxation in the City of ,Sanford, Florida,
for the year 1938, for the ordinary purposes of the Munici-
pality and the Department of Debt Service is the sum of
$103, O00.00. , i~
Section 2. That the millage for the year 193~ to
be assessed upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of
all of the taxable property, except Homeste~ads, w ithin the
corporate limltB of the City of Sanford, Florida, is hereby
fixed at 30 mills, to be allocated as follows:
Department of General Government 15.0OO0 mills
Department of Debt Service 15.0000 mills
Section 3. That the millage for the year 1938 to
be assessed upon each dollar of the assessed valuation of
all Homesteads within the corporate limits of the City of
Sanford, Florida, is hereby fixed at 15 mills, to be allo-
cated as follows:
Department of Debt Service 15.OOO0 mills
Section 4. That there shall be and is hereby
levied for the year 193~ upon each dollar of the assessed
valuation of all taxable property, except Homesteads, within
the corporate limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, a tax
of 15.0000 mills for the PUrpose of realizing a sum suffi-
cient to meet and defray the necessary ordinary run~ing and
operating expenses of the City of Sanford, Florida, for the
fiscal year beginning October l, 1938, and ending September ~O,
1939.
Section 5. That there shall be and is hereby
levied for the year 1938 upon each dollar of the assessed
valuation of all taxable property within the corporate limits
of the City of Sanford, Florida, a tax of 15-00OO mills for
the purpose of realizing a sum sufficient to pay interest
coupons maturing March l, 1939 and September l, 1939, on
Refunding Bonds Series A, of the City of Sanford, Florida,
dated March l, 1937 and maturing September 1, 1977, and to
create a Sinking Fund for the purchase or acquiring of bonds
of said Series A.
Section 6. That this Ordinance shall become
effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
Section 7. That all ordinances or parts of ordi-
nances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby
pealed.
