AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED : AN ORDINANCE DE-
TER~',~INING THE A~IOL~T AND FIXING THE RATE
OF TAXATION AND i?AKING THE AJ~iNUAL TAX
LEVY OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIRA, FOR
TI~E YEAR 1939.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA :
Section 1. That the amount determined necessary
to be raised bY taxation in the City of Sanford, Florida, for
the year 1939, for the ordinary purposes of the 1.2unicipality
and the Department of Debt Service is the sum of Sl13,000.OO.
Section ~. That the millage for the year 1939 to
be assessed upon each dollar of the assessed Valuation of all
of the taxable property, except Homeste~,ds, within the eorporete
limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, is hereby fixed at 30
mills, to be allocated as follows :

That the millage for the year 19.Z9 to

Homesteads within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford,
Florida, is hereby fixed at 15 mills, to be allocated as
follows :
Department of Debt Service 15.0000 mills
Section ~. That there shall be and is hereby levied
for the year 1939 upon each dolle~r of the assessed valuation
of all taxable property, except Homesteads, within the corporate
limits of the City of Sanford, Florida, a ts× of 15.0000 mills
for the purpose of realizing a sum sufficient to meet and defray
the necessary ordinary r~nning and operstlng expenses of the
City of Sanford, Florida, for the fiscal year beginning October 1,
1939, and ending September 30, 1940.
Section 5. That there shall be e. nd is hereby levied
for the year 1929 upon eac~ dollar of the assessed vsluation
of all ta×able property within the corporate limits of the
City of Sanford, Florida, a tax of 15.0000 mills for the purpose
of realizing a sum sufficient to pay interest coupons maturing
Narch l, 19~0, and September l, 1940, on Refunding Bonds Series
"A", of the City of Sanford, Florida, dated Earch l, 1937, and
maturing September l, 1977, and to create s Sinking Fund for
the purchase or acquiring of bonds of said Series
Section 6. That this Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
Section 7. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
