Dear Joe,
As you know, for the last year I have been involved with Bill Heard Chevrolet through
your contribution of a vehicle for the D.A.R.E. program with the City of Sanford.
greatly appreciate your generosity in the use of this vehicle. I want you to know that I am
dedicated to giving outstanding service and performance in the D.A.R.E. program. I also
am committed to representing the Sanford Police Department, D.A.R~E. and Bill Heard
Chevrolet in a positive way.
It is important that we develop and maintain partnerships between businesses and
education through D.A.R,E. to help all of our chiIdren. This is why I value and want to
continue the relationship between Bill Heard Chevrolet, the Sanford Police Department
and D.A,R.E..
Police Chief Brian TooIcy has requested that a contract be drawn up between Bill Heard
Chevrolet and the City of Sanford in relation to the D.A.R.E. car. I propose the following:
Bill Heard Chevrolet and the City of Sanford will re-evaluate and re-new the loan
of the D.A.R.E. car on a year to year basis (from December to December since
that is when we started).
The vehicle will be registered to and insured by the City of SanforcL
The D.A.R.E. officer will be the primary driver of the car on a day to day basis
and will be responsible for making sure that the vehicle is properly maintained,
Bill Heard Chevrolet will have the right to inspect the vehicle periodically for
wear and tear.
The graphics will be provided by Bill Heard Chewolet for the year 2000 and is
subject to approval by Chief Brian Tooley and Bill Heard Chewolet. This can be
re-negotiated each year.

Bill Heard Chevrolet reserves the right to utilize the D.A.I~E. car for promotioal
activities and advertizing as needed,
