The FLORIDA CHAPTER of the International Society ofArboriculture (ISA) and the City
of Sanford, Florida are entering into an agreement to provide necessary tree work at Touhy Park
located in Sanford, Florida. This philanthropic venture will realize a savings to the City of Sanford
of 2/3 the commercial bid quote on this tree work while allowing the FLORIDA CHAFFER 1/3 of
the commercially bid quote to be received as a donation from the City of Sanford.
The FLORIDA CHAPTER, International Society of tlrboriculture (ISA), proposes this
communique as an agreement with the City of Sanford, Florida, to provide tree removal services and
tree preservation for the trees located at Touhy Park, 601 ELm Avenue, Sanford, Florida 32772. This
work will take place on Saturday, March 13, 1999 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Trees to be removed total eleven (11) Laurel Oak (Quercus laurifolia) trees. These eleven
(11) Laurel Oak trees to be removed will be identified by a noticeable annotation (spray paint, etc.)
prior to removal. Annotation of trees to be removed will be conducted by the City of Sanford,
Florida. The eleven (11) Laurel Oak trees to be removed will be cut to within 6" - 12" above grade.
The City of Sanford, Florida, will be responsible for disposing of trunk wood. The FLORIDA
CHAPTER, International Society of Arboriculture, will be responsible for cult'rag the trunk wood
into sections to facilitate the removal process. The City of Sanford will be responsible for the
grinding of the eleven (11) Laurel Oak tree stumps and disposal of wood chips and other debris.
Trees to be preserved include eight (8) Live Oak (Quercus virginiana) trees and two (2)
Laurel Oak (Quercus laurifolia) trees. These eight (8) Live Oak trees and two (2) Laurel Oak trees
to be preserved will be identified by a noticeable annotation (ribbon) prior to implementation of
preservation methodology. These eight (8) Live Oak trees and two (2) Laurel Oak trees will have
/VLA/NTENANCE PRUNING - ANSI A300, 3.3.2.2., which includes hazardreduction pruning,
and CROWN TlllNNING - ANSI A300, 3.3.2.2.2.
The City of Sanford, Florida, will provide to the FLORIDA CHAPTER, International
Society of,4rboriculture, and the work day event a pedestrian free work zone for the safety of
workers and non-workers. The FLORIDA CHAPTER, International Society of Arboriculture, will
contact Publix and Dunkin' Donuts as purveyors of sustenance for the workers of the work day
event. The City of Sanford, Florida, will promote the work day event by a good faith effort of
notifying local newspapers, radio and television of the event.

All tree work will be conducted by FLORIDA CHAPTER members and/or International
Society of.4rboricalture, (7S,4) Certified ~4rborists. Each arborist working on trees will be covered
under kis own Workmen's Compensation Insurance or the Workmen's Compensation Insurance
carried by the company that employs him. The FLORIDA CHAPTER shall provide a certificate
of insurance to the City of Sanford, Florida, prior to the work day event. All tree work will be in
accord0nce with ANSI Z133 (1994) and ANSI A300 (1995). These national standards cover safety
and pruning respectively.
Upon completion of the work as outlined, the City of Sanford shall make a check payable, as
a donation, to the FLORIDA CHAPTER, International Society of~4rboriculture, in the amount of
$8,000.00.
Acceptance of proposal: The above prices, specifications, and conditions are satisfactory and
are hereby accepted. You are authorized to do the work as outlined above. Payment will be made
as outlined above.
