AMENDMENT TO THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
COOPERATION AGREEMENT
WITH THE CITY OF SANFORD
THIS AMENDMENT is entered into on the day of
~OU~C~ , 1989, by and between SEMINOLE COUNTY,
a political subdivision of the State of Florida, whose address is
Seminole County Service Building, 1101 East First Street, Sanford,
Florida 32771 (hereinafter referred to as "COUNTY"), and CITY OF
SANFORD, a Florida municipal corporation, whose address is Post
Office Box 1778, Sanford, Florida 32771, (hereinafter referred to
as "CITY").
WITNESSETH
WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974,
as amended, makes provisions whereby urban counties may enter into
cooperation agreements with certain units of general local
government (such as cities) to undertake or assist in undertaking
essential community development and housing assistance activities
pursuant to Community Development Block Grants; and
WHEREAS, the entering of interlocal agreements of this type
is specifically authoriZed byPart 1, Chapter 163, Florida StatUtes
(1987 and Supplement 1988);
WHEREAS, both parties of this Amendment entered into such an
Agreement to undertake such activities on October 10, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement failed to include a specific reference
to the adherence of both parties to the Fair Housing Act,
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto do mutually agree to amend
the Agreement as follows:
1. SECTION 9 (a) Of the Agreement dated October 10, 1989 is

hereby amended to read:
SECTION 9.
(a) The CITY and the COUNTY agree to take all
actions necessary to assure compliance with
the urban coun~'s certification r~uired by
section 104 (b) of Title I of the Housing and
Community Development Act Of 1974, as amended,
including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of
1964, the Fair Housing Act, section 109 of
Title I of the Housing and Communi~
Development Act of 1974, as amended, and other
applicable laws.
2. Except asherein modified, all terms and conditions of the
Agreement aforesaid shall remain in full force and effect for the
term of this Agreement.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the CITY and the COUNTY do hereby
authorize and have executed this Amendment as Of the date first
hereinbefore written.

Counsel for the COUNTY does hereby state that the terms and
provisions of this Amendment are in accordance with state and local
law and that the Amendment provides full legal authori~ for the
