The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Retreat on Wednesday,
March 9, 2011, at 2 PM, in the Wayne M. Densch Center, Safari Room A, Central
Florida Zoological Park, 3755 NW Highway 17 -92, Sanford, Florida.

Vice Mayor Patty Mahany
Commissioner Velma Williams
Commissioner Randy Jones
Interim City Manager Tom George
Assistant City Attorney Lonnie Groot
City Clerk Janet Dougherty
Deputy City Clerk Cynthia Porter
Absent: Commissioner Mark M ° Carty
Larry Arrington, a member of the consultant team, opened the meeting at
2:22 PM and introduced the team: Herb Marlowe, facilitator and Deland Mayor Bob
Apgar. The purpose of today's meeting is to discuss how to govern as a team and setting
goals.
The Commission discussed setting a code of conduct and strategic
planning in preparation for the budget. The tentative budget workshop calendar was set
for July 5 and 7.
Interim City Manager George distributed and discussed a handout
regarding the City Manager search. He also gave an update on the Police Chief search.
